Isabell's upbringing on the Makah Reservation has been a profound blessing, as it provided her with the unique opportunity to immerse herself in the wisdom of the elders. Within this close-knit community, she absorbed the knowledge of traditional foods, medicines, and ways of life, all of which were generously shared by the last fluent language speakers of her tribe.
